GCC Waste Management & Recycling Forum

Conference

Waste management and recycling is an important part of the urban infrastructure as it ensures the protection of the environment and of human health. It is not only a technical environmental issue, but also a highly political one. The impact of waste management on the environment has been widely recognized in the GCC Region.Waste needs to be safely managed because it is potentially hazardous to the human health and the environment. Globally there has been a rapid change in environment due to the increasing waste generated from every sector running into Billion tons of waste produced per year.

The conference provides a forum for the exchange of scientific information and work on the current situation of waste management in GCC amongst professionals, researchers, government departments solution providers and local authorities. Waste Management is one of the key problems of modern society due to the ever expanding volume and complexity of discarded domestic and industrial waste. Society is increasingly aware of the need to establish better practices and safer solutions for waste disposal. This requires further investigation into disposal methods and recycling as well as new technologies to monitor landfills, industrial mining wastes and chemical and nuclear repositories. This creates a need for more research on current disposal methods such as landfills, incineration, chemical and effluent treatment, as well as recycling, clean technologies, waste monitoring, public and corporate awareness and general education. Unfortunately many of the policies adopted in the past were aimed at short term solutions without due regard to the long term implications on health and the environment, leading in many cases to the need to take difficult and expensive remedial action. The desired direction of Waste Management is towards sustainable strategies.

We are pleased to be bringing together the research and academic communities with industry and regulators for two days of discussion around the waste management & recycling challenges and opportunities facing the different sector in the region. It aims to deliver essential learning and sharing of international best practice to help improve performance, foster a healthy work culture, and ensure a sustainable environment. In addition, We encourage all relevant organizations both solutions seekers and solution providers to attend and actively participate in the Gcc Waste management & recycling forum Dubai 2018
