During the production or rework of chocolate, the use of a control screening machine is an important part of the process. This ensures that there are no foreign parts or impurities in the chocolate mass. It is important that the chocolate does not cool down during the entire process and also during the screening process. A constant temperature of approx. 40°C must be maintained during production to ensure the gloss and high quality of the end product. For this application the GKM control screening machine type KTS-VS2 has been further developed. This screening machine is equipped with a double-walled cone through which water with a temperature of 35 - 65°C is permanently circulated to ensure continuous screening of the viscous chocolate mass. Of course, the machine can be equipped with other important features and characteristics for this kind of industry as: A motor support made of stainless steel 1.4301, all kind of food-grade surfaces, etc.. The KTS-VS2 control screening machine is equipped with a pneumatic deck lifting system consisting of two pneumatic cylinders including a hand lever for lifting and lowering. In addition, our high-performance KTS-VS2 has Quick-Clamps for quick opening and closing. This means that all work can be carried out by just one operator in less than a minute. Since the cylinders are firmly attached to the machine, no additional space is required and downtimes, especially when changing screens and batches, are reduced to a minimum. Productivity & performance is increased as much as possible. The central infeed and fine material outlet also ensure a fast product flow with a minimum of dwell time and thus enables high throughput rates. The system can be used for machine sizes from 600 to 800 in a wide range of industries and application areas.

Due to the sustained high demand for the screening machine type KTS-VS2, the models KTS-VS2 600 and KTS-VS2 800 complement the GKM`s established range and KTS-VS2 series models. These additional machine sizes provide the ideal solution for little feed quantities or small batches. Reduction of Downtime The current version of the pneumatic deck lifting system installed in tumbler screening machines, allows screen inserts to be changed one at a time. When used with multi-deck screening machines each deck has to be raised and changed separately. This is time and labour intensive, depending on the number of screen inserts to be changed. In order minimise downtime, GKM Siebtechnik has developed a new pneumatic multi-deck lifting system allowing multiple deck lifting and exchange in a single operation. By means of the pneumatic cylinders, all screening decks can be lifted simultaneously. All screen inserts can be inspected, cleaned or changed at once. This new lifting system allows between two and four decks to be the exchanged and inspected after which the complete screening decks are lowered precisely back to their correct location. Special GKM Screening Machine KTS-VS2 2000 The GKM Control Screening Machine KTS-VS2 2000/1 has been specially developed for the screening of cement before silo-truck loading. The machine has a central inlet and outlet. This and the additionally enlarged inlet allows a throughput of 200 t/h with a mesh size of 2.0 mm. The screening process removes contaminants and oversize particles maintaining the high quality of your products before loading the truck. The machine is treated with ViwateQ® surface finish to prevent and reduce adhesions of the product. The conical lower part and the screen frame are equipped with a newly developed vibrating cleaning system for cleaning the mesh cloth and to increase the performance of the machine. The KTS-VS2 2000/1 1 is already well established at well-known manufacturers in the building materials industry.

When using screening machines in a production process, efficient and exact screening is very important for the downstream processing steps. To achieve this, the mesh cloth used in the machine must not clog with the material to be screened. The blocking and clogging of the meshes is a common problem that occurs especially with difficult to screen and fine powders. This can lead to outages and production loss. To prevent this and to keep the mesh cloth clear, GKM Siebtechnik offers different cleaning systems depending on the characteristics of the product. A mechanical and economical process is the ball cleaning system. This involves the use of balls under the screen which knock against the mesh cloth and thereby displace particles that adhere. Another option for the cleaning of the mesh cloth is the use of an Ultra-Vario-Sonic System. This system delivers a much more efficient sieving action especially with very fine mesh sizes.
