Efficient modernization of a waste wood recycling plant

After 29 years of operation, the waste wood recycling plant of the Gigler company was refurbished. Production manager Alexander Schönacher optimized the plant together with HejuTec and FB Ketten. The result: a more efficient and reliable plant.

*Challenge and objective

The refurbishment of the waste wood recycling plant was a demanding task. The objective was to renew the wear components, eliminate bottlenecks in the conveyor system and ensure operational reliability and performance for the next three years through technical optimization.
At the same time, it had to be ensured that the work was completed within the planned revision time window in order to keep the production loss as low as possible.

*Implementation of the renovation

A decisive success factor was the close and professional cooperation of the three project partners Alexander Schönacher from Gigler, Jürgen Heinzelmann from HejuTec and FB chain application specialist Mario Fähndrich.
The scraper chains, sprockets, bearings and chain wear strips were expertly replaced and the scraper floors lined with wear plates.
In addition, targeted optimizations were made to the conveyor system to minimize material flow disruptions and increase the efficiency of the entire system.

The experts from HejuTec and FB Ketten rely on modern materials and design principles to achieve greater operational reliability and a longer service life for the plant. Alexander Schönacher was very impressed by the professionalism and flexibility of the HejuTec installation team and the support provided by FB Ketten.

*Successful teamwork
The refurbishment work was completed on schedule within the planned inspection period.
The successful collaboration between Alexander Schönacher, Jürgen Heinzelmann and Mario Fähndrich proves that targeted modernization of existing plants has significant advantages.
This renovation not only improved operational safety and plant availability, but also made an important contribution to the economic efficiency and sustainability of waste wood recycling.

Conclusion: Through the use of innovative solutions and the expertise of all parties involved, a plant that was over two decades old was brought up to the latest state of the art. The teams from Gigler, HejuTec and FB Ketten have impressively demonstrated how well-thought-out modernization can significantly increase the performance and longevity of recycling plants.
