Radar measurement in fine sand of building materials production
A German building materials manufacturer was looking for compatible level sensors in its narrow, high storage silos for very fine sand, among other things. A non-contact measurement with free-radiating radar measurement technology from UWT was preferred. The advantages of non-contact radar level measurement lie in its ability to provide accurate measurement regardless of the properties of the medium (e.g., density, dielectric constant). It also works in adverse environments with high temperatures, pressures, vibrations or dust.
The NR 4100 has been installed in several storage silos for level measurement of very fine sand (0-1 mm). The high frequency 80 GHz radar sensor of the NivoRadar® series offers a high resolution as well as a robust design.
- Max. adjustment: 1,000 m
- Min. alignment: 15,000 m
The echo profile looked top notch. Installation and commissioning were quick and straightforward. Pairing the devices via Bluetooth with the UWT LevelApp worked intuitively and ensures transparent and modern level monitoring.
Special features of the application/application data:
- Low DK value of the sand
-
