Exceptional Purity Levels for Sustainable Construction Materials

A pioneering company specializing in the development and manufacturing of equipment for the recycling industry has launched an innovative project in the Netherlands. The goal was to process burned soil as a valuable supplement for building materials.
This challenging application, primarily involving dust and ash from burned solids like earth and sand, requires ultra-fine screening at 60 μm (230 Mesh) with highest purity demands.

Soil is burned to eliminate harmful organic contaminants, pathogens, and invasive species, which otherwise render the soil unsuitable for construction purposes. By eliminating these impurities, the recycling industry transforms this cleaned soil into a valuable, sustainable raw material for building applications, contributing to a circular economy and meeting high environmental and safety standards.

To realize this transformation, the facility was designed to achieve high-precision separation with a throughput of 20 t/h. The fine grain size, along with the abrasive and corrosive nature of the material, and temperatures reaching up to 200°C, required advanced solutions. RHEWUM’s extensive screening trials proved successful, delivering machinery that achieves product purity of nearly 99% with a yield of over 85%. To meet these complex requirements, RHEWUM provided a combination of the RHEsono® screening machine and RHEmid feeder. These systems are engineered to ensure exceptional precision and operational efficiency.

RHEsono® Screening Machine: Precision for the Finest Materials
At the core of this project is the RHEsono® screening machine, designed for the most demanding fine grain separation tasks. Its direct excitation technology, combined with powerful electromagnetic drives, ensures high-frequency vibration that delivers accurate separation, even for the most demanding materials like burned soil. Despite the high performance, the RHEsono® screening machine operates with remarkable energy efficiency, transmitting vibration efficiently with a total power consumption of just 3.2 kW, making it a sustainable choice for large-scale operations.

To handle the fine, abrasive dust generated during screening, the system uses an efficient dedusting unit with an air consumption of 5,400 m³/h at a negative pressure of 1.2–1.4 mbar, ensuring a clean and safe working environment, even in continuous operation.

RHEmid Feeder: Uniform Material Flow and Efficiency

The RHEmid feeder guarantees uniform material distribution across the full width of the RHEsono screening machine. Its robust, static housing allows for secure, dust-tight operation with fixed flange connections, critical when processing abrasive, high-temperature materials. It is energy efficient, low maintenance, and equipped with two GeniusDrivePlus® motors featuring Industry 4.0 integration, allowing real-time monitoring via Bluetooth for predictive maintenance and early issue detection.

Fertilizer with high production rate and product purity How do you achieve maximum product purity and high throughput rates when screening hygroscopic diammonium hydrogen phosphate (DAP)?
Fertilizer with high production rate and product purity
How do you achieve maximum product purity and high throughput rates when screening hygroscopic diammonium hydrogen phosphate (DAP)? Diammonium hydrogen phosphate (DAP) is an essential component of many fertilizer compositions due to its high phosphorus and nitrogen content. When screening DAP, producers are faced with the challenge of ensuring fine and homogeneous particle sizes, while at the same time guaranteeing a high production rate and product purity. Challenges in the sieving of DAP Screening DAP is technically challenging as the material is hygroscopic, i.e. it absorbs moisture from the ambient air and has a tendency to form agglomerates. These agglomerations make it difficult for the material to pass through the screen meshes and impair the efficiency of the screening process. In addition, high throughput rates can lead to blinding and clogging of the screen mesh, which can result in the screening process having to be completely interrupted, bringing the entire production process to a standstill. Precise screening using innovative technology RHEWUM specializes in screening challenging

Screening drilling barite for hydraulic fracturing (fracking) A facility in Louisiana, USA, has enhanced its barite processing for fracking by acquiring two RHEsonox screening machines and a RHEmid feeder, aimed at improving the efficiency and precision of barite screening.
Screening drilling barite for hydraulic fracturing (fracking)
A facility in Louisiana, USA, has enhanced its barite processing for fracking by acquiring two RHEsonox screening machines and a RHEmid feeder, aimed at improving the efficiency and precision of barite screening. Barite, a mineral composed of barium sulfate (BaSO4), is commonly used in the oil and gas industry, especially in hydraulic fracturing (fracking) and drilling operations. In these contexts, barite serves as a weighting agent in drilling muds. The high density of barite helps to counteract the immense pressures found in oil and gas reservoirs. By adding barite powder to the drilling mud, the overall density of the mud is increased, which in turn helps to maintain the stability of the borehole, control formation pressures, prevent blowouts, and facilitate the extraction of oil and gas. In order to upgrade barite processing for fracking RHEWUM America Inc. recently delivered two RHEsonox® sieving machines that precisely screen barite with separations cuts of up to 325 mesh (50 μm) and a RHEmid feeder for uniform material distribution. The RHEsonox® high-performance screening machine utilizes two counter-rotating imbalance motors to create linear motion, facilitating
