Due to the flourishing construction industry, sand is now the second most traded raw material after water. But suitable sand resources are limited. RHEWUM has developed a solution to produce sand from widely spread gravel right next to the customer. A flourishing construction industry without sand is unthinkable. Direct excited screening machines from RHEWUM for sugar industry A well-known European sugar producer was looking for new screening machines to replace his worn-out sizers. Since not only the old machines but also the building were affected, the new sifters should transfer as few vibrations as possible into the building and at the same time increase the efficiency of the screening process. So the decision was made for a machine with directly excited screen meshes. The existing sizers were designed for a throughput of 30 tons of refined sugar per hour with 5 separating cuts, whereas the required product quality for the lowest deck with a separating cut of 0.2 mm could not achieve the required product quality. To find a suitable replacement, trials were made in the technical center of RHEWUM, during which process-relevant parameters of the screening machine were determined and also the compliance with the permissible amount of off-spec particles for numerous sugar types was considered and proved. Effortless screening of lumps with the Rhewum sv-S feeder What to do if the product has lumps so large that they could even damage the screen mesh? Then a pre-screening must be implemented.. With the help of a Rhewum SV-S feeder this is no problem. For the screening of 200 tons of calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) per hour an internationally operating plant manufacturer will receive a RHEWUM screener type WAU including a SV-S for his end customer from Egypt. SV means "lateral distribution", S stands for "screen". The directly excited screening machine type WAU is designed as a double-decker with separations at 5 mm and 2 mm. To prevent larger lumps from damaging the screen cloth of the WAU or clogging the coarse grain outlet, they are screened in a pre-separation in the SV-S at 15 mm. This reduces the loads on the screening machine while maximizing the service life and optimizing the actual screening process. To reduce the noise emission of your screening machine RHEWUM now offers an innovative sound insulation cover. Usually screening machines are not the quietest machines in the production chain. Due to impact bar movements the screen cloth is excited to high frequency vibrations. This, in combination with the product to be screened, causes noise emissions which sometimes have to be reduced. The sound insulation tarpaulin for screening machines provides a quick and uncomplicated solution to this problem. The sturdy, custom-made tarpaulin is covered with an acoustic membrane which damps the sound and absorbs sound energy. The sound power level of the machine can be reduced by 8 dB by attaching the sound-insulating tarpaulin, which corresponds to approximately halving the perceived noise level. The tarpaulin is flexible and easy to bend - which in turn ensures simple and quick installation on the machine. Possible risks that could arise during a screening process of ammonium nitrate are, for example, high dust generation, which can lead to dust explosions and damage to health. In asphalt mixing plants asphalt mixes are produced by a thermal mixing process of mineral rocks, filler (rock flour), binder (bitumen) and if necessary additives for different requirements. RHEWUM presents solution for difficult screening tasks in the fertilizer industry. Typical phosphate fertilizers have specifications that allow particle sizes between 2 mm and 4 or 5 mm. In addition, these products are often expected to have a quality of more than 90 percent, which means that only 10 percent of the particles may be outside the specialized range. On the other hand, phosphate fertiliser production plants have a production rate of several hundred tonnes per hour. Phosphate granulate tends to clog the screen meshes. If this occurs, production must be stopped to allow the meshes to be cleaned or replaced. The biggest challenge of a phosphate screening machine is therefore to obtain a high quality material with a high throughput while ensuring a low downtime for maintenance. Rhewum screening machine as a solution for wood recycling The manufacturing process of laminate includes many steps. However, the largest amount of waste is produced when the wooden boards are cut into planks. Both waste and sawdust are produced, which can hardly be sold as an end product. This was exactly the problem in 2016 when one of the world`s leading manufacturers of wooden flooring and interior fittings relied on RHEWUM screening machines to recycle its waste in order to increase the overall production efficiency. The special challenge here was the separation of the fine sawdust which comes from a mill. In general wood-based materials tend to clog the screen fabric easily. This is because during the screening process the fine particles can get stuck in the meshes and reduce the screening performance. In this case, the customer`s grain spectrum was wide. The technical RHEWUM app has been renamed to „RHEWUM ScreenSpector” and offers operators o Already since 2014, the RHEWUM app supports its users during maintenance of their screening machines- simple, fast and free of charge. The app consists of the four following functions: 1. VibFlash The smartphone’s flash light generates a stroboscopic light with a predetermined frequency and thereby visually records and investigates the vibrations of the respective plant. The RHEWUM app which is available since autumn 2014 has been extended by a further smart function - and this result is also impressive! With the help of the MeshConverter feature the app-users can quickly and easily convert screen mesh sizes from SI units into the Anglo-American unit system. The basis of this conversion is exclusively on the DIN-main and secondary lines, which are converted to ASTM International norm (original American Society for Testing and Materials) and also to Tyler standard. In addition the new app feature allows a smooth conversion of mesh sizes into separation cuts for inclined screens. This requires detailed knowledge of the screen inclination, which can be conveniently determined by using the built-in tilt sensor of the corresponding terminal. It applies to this innovative RHEWUM function as well: all which handle screening and bulk materials benefit from this unique technology!
