Quality-Focused Screening of Urea Prills
Learn how a French urea prills manufacturer aims to address production challenges with a tailored screening approach.
The Challenge: Ensuring Consistent Product Quality
A prominent French manufacturer of urea prills faced a critical juncture in their production process. Their existing screening system, handling both uncoated and coated prills, struggled with persistent clogging in the lower deck and excessive dust in the final product. The manufacturer required exact separations for two fine screen cuts during loading screening, adhering to strict quality standards that permitted only a small percentage of undersized and oversized products.
Developing a Quality-Focused Configuration
RHEWUM’s engineering team conducted a series of in-depth screening tests to determine the optimal machine configuration. These tests focused on various screen designs, amplitudes, and frequencies to enhance separation efficiency and product quality. The aim was to develop a solution specifically tailored to overcome the quality challenges faced by the manufacturer.
A Tailored Solution: Precision Meets Performance
The solution comprised a distribution chute, two RHEside feeders, and two RHEsono® vibrating screens. The RHEsono® screens, noted for their high-frequency, low-amplitude operation, effectively addressed the clogging issue. Their unique design, which employs direct vibration transmission into the screen cloth ensures that the mesh apertures remain clear, significantly reducing blinding and enhancing screening efficiency. The RHEside feeders were crucial in ensuring even material distribution across the screen width. Their ability to deliver a consistent, controlled feed rate maximized the utilization of the screen surface, improving separation accuracy and maintaining high product quality.
Future Outlook: Elevating Product Standards
This targeted combination of technologies is poised to address the quality issues, aiming to reduce dust and ensure precise particle separations. The anticipated efficient separation process and precise control over particle movement are expected to result in a cleaner, high-quality product. The implementation of this RHEWUM system underscores the importance of customized solutions in the fertilizer industry, where maintaining high-quality standards is essential.
By focusing on specific quality challenges with advanced screening technology, the French urea prills manufacturer is set to significantly improve their product quality, potentially setting a new benchmark in the industry.
