Samir Kryeziu, Head of Business Development at Rico Sicherheitstechnik, (left) and Alexander Auer, Operations Director at Blueserv, are delighted about the service co-operation.

Hosokawa Alpine Blueserv + Rico Sicherheitstechnik = It works

Hosokawa Alpine, and Swiss company Rico Sicherheitstechnik are cooperating in terms of service provision, to offer a complete service for pressure shock-resistant systems
Blueserv, the service brand of Augsburg-based machine and plant manufacturer Hosokawa Alpine, and Swiss company Rico Sicherheitstechnik are cooperating in terms of service provision, as the central focus of both companies is on customer needs. The service specialists from Blueserv are trained and certified by Rico. Only then may the legally prescribed and mandatory annual service work be carried out on the Rico Ventex® explosion protection valves. This is the only way to guarantee safety in and around the system.

Complete service for pressure shock-resistant systems

The durable explosion protection valves from Rico Sicherheitstechnik have been installed in the pressure shock resistant powder processing systems from Hosokawa Alpine for a long time now. In the past, customers had two contacts for service matters: Blueserv and Rico. The new co-operation between the two companies will simplify this process: The Rico Ventex® explosion protection valves can now also be serviced by Blueserv technicians worldwide. ”Our customers can enjoy total service for pressure shock resistant systems from a single source. This significantly shortens and simplifies the service process,” says Alexander Auer, Operations Director Blueserv at Hosokawa Alpine. At the same time, Blueserv is also expanding its range of services in order to meet customer needs on site even more quickly and precisely. The common goal of the cooperation partners is to ensure the safety of employees and systems at customer locations worldwide by carrying out maintenance, thereby helping to avoid possible system downtimes.

Expanded service network

With this co-operation, Rico Sicherheitstechnik is further expanding its international service network. Founded in 1988, the Swiss company is regarded as a pioneer in industrial explosion protection, whose components effectively prevent the spread of explosions in industrial plants. These include explosion protection valves, gate valves and butterfly valves, pressure relief valves as well as shut-off and non-return valves. The company works with certified service partners all over the world. This now also includes Blueserv’s global service network with branches in Europe, North and South America, the MENA region and Asia. ”It is very important for us to be able to help our customers quickly and on-site With the experts from Blueserv, we are now achieving this goal in additional markets,” says Samir Kryeziu, Head of Business Development at Rico.

Alpine Process Technology Summit: Spices, in Augsburg
Theoretical and practical knowledge about spice production. The conference in English, participation costs 295 euros per person. Whether turmeric or chilli, tea, coriander or caraway: every spice has its own specific properties and requirements. These should be taken into account in the production of high-quality food and in the development of efficient production processes. To gain a deeper understanding of these topics, Hosokawa Alpine AG is organising the Alpine Process Technology Summit | Spices at its headquarters in Augsburg on 16 and 17 April 2024. The entire spectrum of spice processing With the motto ”fit for future markets”, experts from Hosokawa Alpine, Behn + Bates, Hosokawa Micron B.V., Nexopart and Hosokawa Solids will share their in-depth expertise on spice processing with the participants. Topics range from cleaning, cutting, grinding and mixing to particle analysis, powder handling and packaging as well as after-sales service for existing plants. The technical presentations will go hand in hand with a practical session at Hosokawa Alpine’s test centre. ”The laboratory

With the new brand ”On”, the Hosokawa Micron Group is increasing its focus on solutions for the production and recycling of lithium-ion batteries. Hosokawa Micron Group is increasing its focus on solutions for the manufacture and recycling of lithium-ion batteries. For this purpose, the group of companies has founded an international, group-wide competence team and created the brand ”On”. ”On” stands for the energy and power behind the project. The new brand identifies a new product line for systems for the production of energy performance materials and enables interested parties from the battery industry to get started quickly and access the group’s extensive range of solutions. This information can be found on a dedicated website: technologies play a key role in the production of lithium-ion batteries for which we have extensive know-how in the Hosokawa Micron Group,” explains Marco Hauk, team leader for the project and Vice President Powder Segment at Hosokawa Alpine. Combined fields of expertise of the Hosokawa Micron Group Hosokawa Alpine’s Chemical Division is a specialist in processing

Direct recycling of production waste of Lithium-ion batteries
The machine and plant manufacturer Hosokawa Alpine has developed a process that can be used to recycle material scrap created in the production of lithium-ion batteries directly by the battery manufacturer. From consumer electronics to electromobility: The demand for lithium-ion batteries is steadily increasing. But increased battery production also leads to a greater number of rejects during the manufacturing process. This arises, for example, when sorting out defects such as pinholes, inclusions and other coating faults, due to edge trimming or rejects during the finishing process. In total, about 10% (or considerably more depending on the process) of the coated cathode or anode films end up as rejects and have to be recycled. In particular, the valuable active materials, i.e. the NMC or LFP of the cathode films or the graphite-silicon mixtures of the anode films, should be processed and directly recycled free of impurities. Direct recycling ensures efficient production In order to be able to recycle cathode and anode film scrap during production, Hosokawa Alpine has developed a range of solutions. ”Direct recycling means that rejects can be recycled at the production

New spiral jet mill Alpine Microburst (AMB) from Hosokawa Alpine
New AMB spiral jet mill from Hosokawa Alpine: Ultra-fine grinding of coarse materials without pre-crushing Hosokawa Alpine AG has developed a new jet mill where coarser products can also be added without pre-crushing. The company named the spiral jet mill Alpine Microburst (AMB) after a weather phenomenon. ”The falling downdraughts in a microburst are reflected in the central material feed of the mill and high energy input to a clearly limited area,” explains Hermann Schmidt, Operations Director Pharma & Lab Division at Hosokawa Alpine AG. Even fibrous products, which previously could only be crushed with great effort or hardly at all, can now be finely milled with the AMB. Expansion of Hosokawa jet mills With the AMB spiral jet mill, the company is now presenting its customers with a valuable addition alongside its AS spiral jet mill and the AFG fluidised bed opposed jet mill. In contrast to traditional spiral jet mills, its large, central inlet allows more coarsely ground products to be processed directly. Up to now, this required pre-crushing. While the AFG is
