Lindner Showcases Smart System Solutions at IFAT 2020 Digitalisation and smart technology are in the spotlight
Lindner Showcases Smart System Solutions at IFAT 2020
Digitalisation and smart technology are in the spotlight Only a couple of years ago, terms such as digitalisation or waste management 4.0 sounded very futuristic. What was still considered a prediction of coming trends at the last IFAT in 2018, has already become a reality at the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Waste and Raw Materials Management in Munich in 2020. Whether collection logistics, customer communication or the production process, current developments show that more and more digital technology is finding its way into all aspects of waste management, where it is optimising the valuable resources flow and ultimately transforming the sector into a highly efficient circular economy. As a shredding and waste processing specialist, the Austrian company Lindner Recyclingtech consequently relies on smart system solutions to transform waste into recyclables and produce high-quality solid recovered fuels. Stefan Scheiflinger-Ehrenwerth, Head of Product Management at Lindner, explains: ‘We have always been

Lindner’s DEX Drive Awarded Innovation of the Year The New E-Drive for Twin-Shaft Shredders Wins the Global CemFuels Award
Lindner’s DEX Drive Awarded Innovation of the Year
The New E-Drive for Twin-Shaft Shredders Wins the Global CemFuels Award Lindner is setting new standards in efficiency with their asynchronous twin-shaft shredders’ innovative and purely electromechanical drive with smart DEX (Dynamic Energy Exchange) energy management system. This novelty won the Global CemFuels Award in the category ‘Alternative Fuels Innovation of the Year’ at the 14th Global CemFuels Conference and Exhibition in Paphos, Cyprus. The specialist for shredding technology and waste processing solutions received the cement and lime industry’s coveted award for the sixth time in February 2020. This ingeniously engineered, new drive – used for the first time in Lindner’s Atlas 5500 AS shredder – beat stiff competition. The purely electromechanical drive`s secret weapon lies in its intelligent DEX energy management system. This system recovers the valuable kinetic energy generated by one of the shafts while braking and supplies it to the second shaft – a much more efficient process than losing it as heat. Thanks

Efficient recycling of laminate waste Rhewum screening machine as a solution for wood recycling
Efficient recycling of laminate waste
Rhewum screening machine as a solution for wood recycling The manufacturing process of laminate includes many steps. However, the largest amount of waste is produced when the wooden boards are cut into planks. Both waste and sawdust are produced, which can hardly be sold as an end product. This was exactly the problem in 2016 when one of the world`s leading manufacturers of wooden flooring and interior fittings relied on RHEWUM screening machines to recycle its waste in order to increase the overall production efficiency. The special challenge here was the separation of the fine sawdust which comes from a mill. In general wood-based materials tend to clog the screen fabric easily. This is because during the screening process the fine particles can get stuck in the meshes and reduce the screening performance. In this case, the customer`s grain spectrum was wide. From highly visible wood chips of more than 10.0 mm in size that have to be shredded again, to the screening of fine dust below 400 microns, which makes up almost a

Lindner’s Polaris 1800 – The Island Solution Production of solid recovered fuels (SRF) with technology by Lindner
Lindner’s Polaris 1800 – The Island Solution
Production of solid recovered fuels (SRF) with technology by Lindner Limited space, fewer tonnes, but still maximum productivity: as special requirements need smart solutions, Lindner’s Polaris 1800 shredder has been in operation at the company Island Waste, that is part of the Guernsey Recycling Group, since early 2019. Now that a year has passed, Matthew Cox, Guernsey Recycling Group’s Operations Director, takes stock: ‘The logistics of getting the shredder on site alone were quite an adventure. Here on Guernsey, the availability of suitable hoisting equipment is relatively limited. Consequently, we had to build the facility around the shredder and clear a whole row of bushes to get from the ferry to the construction site by lorry. But the effort was well worth it. Lindner’s Polaris 1800 currently transforms about 8 metric tons of municipal waste per hour into alternative fuel. However, the shredder still has significant power reserves for possible future expansion. We can highly recommend this solution from Lindner and its

Leading-edge technology for bulk solids As a new era in bulk goods dawns, find inspiration at trade shows Solids & Recycling-Technik
Leading-edge technology for bulk solids
As a new era in bulk goods dawns, find inspiration at trade shows Solids & Recycling-Technik (Dortmund) The demands placed on technologies for processing modern bulk solids are constantly rising. Today’s strategies no longer focus strictly on increases in efficiency and the careful consumption of energy and resources: Given the ubiquitous shortage of skilled workers, it has become critical to fortify processes in order to protect people, the environment and production plants. On 1 & 2 April 2020, the trade show Solids & Recycling-Technik Dortmund will address these and other challenges faced by industry – both today and tomorrow. Throughout the exhibition and in technical lectures, numerous experts will engage the visitors to encourage the exchange of knowledge and spark ideas for tackling a demanding future. The primary issues facing decision-makers in the bulk materials industry are: how to position oneself efficiently and sustainably on the market, and how to defend and maintain that position in future. Against a background of growing shortages in skilled
