The Lindner Film Examiner Improvement of output quality in film washing systems
The Lindner Film Examiner
Improvement of output quality in film washing systems In recent years Lindner Washtech GmbH has evolved into a technological leader in the field of PE film recycling, now with over 50 washing systems installed worldwide. Many new developments such as the patented pre-washing system Rafter have set new standards in the industry and are now an integral part of every Lindner washing system. The latest in a series of developments for PE film recycling from Lindner Washtech is the Film Examiner. It is placed directly in front of the extrusion phase as a final process to improve the product quality. The device reliably separates small hard contamination particles which are extremely difficult to remove using traditional methods within the washing line due to their specific density and size. These include in particular rigid plastic particles of PP or HDPE, and in addition light aluminium particles and small wood flakes. The Film Examiner is mounted directly in the air stream after the thermal drying process, utilizing the

Profitably closing the plastics cycle The new Varisort+ sorting system from Sesotec combines sustainability and profitability
Profitably closing the plastics cycle
The new Varisort+ sorting system from Sesotec combines sustainability and profitability Schönberg, July 2020 A majority of the plastic that exists will be used just once and will not be recycled. In Europe, only about 30 percent of the plastic produced in 2017 went on to be recycled. Enormous amounts of plastic waste are disposed of in landfills or incinerators, practices that pose risks to air quality, wildlife, public health, and the food chain. On top of that, the oceans are suffering from a flood of plastics: of the estimated 150 million tons of trash floating in the world’s oceans, roughly a third of it is plastic. In order to counteract this development and convert plastic waste into useable raw materials, the EU introduced legislation in October 2018 that requires all plastic packaging to be either reusable or easily recyclable by 2030. As industry has begun to make adjustments to meet this 2030 deadline, the purity of recycled plastics has become a central issue. Recycling plant operators are having to implement preparation processes that can

High performance screen aggregates for the asphalt industry RHEWUM supplied various asphalt mixing plant operators with new DF screening units for the season.
High performance screen aggregates for the asphalt industry
RHEWUM supplied various asphalt mixing plant operators with new DF screening units for the season. In general asphalt is a mixture of minerals and bitumen as binder. In asphalt mixing plants asphalt mixes are produced by a thermal mixing process of mineral rocks, filler (rock flour), binder (bitumen) and if necessary additives for different requirements. Screening machines are required to classify the mineral rock for these processes. Like for example the Rhewum double Frequency Screening Machine (short DF) - a high performance unit for screening in the medium and coarse grain range. The drive principle of the DF is based on the use of two vibration motors with different speeds. The product is loosened and mixed at the screen inlet due to the large vibration amplitude. The higher frequency at the screen outlet causes even difficult to screen material to be screened due to the higher acceleration. By changing the direction of rotation of the vibration motors at the inlet and outlet, the transport speed of the product can be changed. Advantages include good accessibility

Fassa bortolo a loyal RHEWUM customer for more than 20 years
The leading Italian producer of building products expects two new vibratory screening machines. In the Fassa bortolo plants sixteen Rhewum wa screening machines, one Rhewum dfm and one Rhewum mds machine have been performing faithfully in the classification of dolomite, limestone and sand since 1991. For its plant in Brazil, the industry specialist requires screening machines that will be used in the future for classifying limestone and silica sand. The limestone to be classified has a nominal feed capacity of 60 t/h and a maximum of 70 t/h per screening unit, whereas with silica sand it is a nominal 30 t/h and a maximum of 60 t/h. The separation is 4.5 mm, 3.0 mm, 1.2 mm and 0.6 mm with a desired screening of maximum 140 tons per hour. Due to the requirements two screening machines of RHEWUM type WA with triple-deck screening unit and the 60 Hz mains frequency required for Brazil proved to be the optimal solution. Not only the very good quality of our screening machines is decisive for the customer. But also our many years of experience in the uncomplicated

New specialist for retrofit and modernization
Rudolf Landsmann is the new Senior Manager Modernization and Retrofit. RHEWUM screening machines usually have a long lifetime. But often the demands on the machine change during its lifetime. Therefore the machine has to be modernized (retrofit). Due to their long experience our screening experts of the RHEWUM retrofit team are able to realize the complex customer requirements and to make the RHEWUM screening machine fit for new tasks. After studying processing technology at the renowned TU Clausthal in Lower Saxony, Rudolf Landsmann started at Rhewum gmbH in 1987 as laboratory assistant and deputy laboratory manager of the Rhewum technical Center. There he accompanied the research and development of special machines which were then as now designed and manufactured specifically according to customer requirements. Rudolf Landsmann was also significantly involved in the further development of today`s multi-deck plansifter MDS and wet screening machine WAFL. In 1989 the graduate engineer changed to the sales department of Rhewum gmbH and
