50 years of REMBE – with empathy and heart, at any time and worldwide
After fifty years of business, people often look back at the history, at old pictures, brochures and reports. But in REMBE’s anniversary year things are different... Because here (today just as 50 years ago) it is the people who shape the corporate spirit and make REMBE what it is today. Stefan Penno, Chief Executive Officer REMBE GmbH Safety+Control explains: ”We trust each other, see the best in people and believe in each person’s individual strengths. Because humans are what matters to us.” Bernhard Penno founded the company in 1973 as a sales office for rupture discs – initially as a one-man business in his garage at home. Just a few years later, new rupture disc designs were being manufactured in the company’s first production hall. In 2005, Stefan Penno, the son of the company founder, took the reins of the business. Today, REMBE employs 340 ”RFM” (REMBE family members) in over 90 countries and with 10 subsidiaries. To mark its anniversary year, REMBE has come up with some ”special activities”. This year’s celebrations are entirely in keeping with the above motto. They will start with an international

Flexibility is the key: horizontal- or cross strapping as required
HSM GmbH + Co. KG offers the largest baling presses in the wide product range, namely the HSM VK 12018 and HSM VK 15020 channel baling presses with a fully automatic cross strapping feature. HSM GmbH + Co. KG, the manufacturer of baling presses and PET solutions in South Germany, proves its innovative spirit once again: its eye always on the challenges in the recycling sector. The largest baling presses in the wide product range, namely the HSM VK 12018 and HSM VK 15020 channel baling presses, can now be optionally equipped with the fully automatic cross strapping feature. Thanks to the SCT System (Selectable Cross Tying) it is now possible to supplement the horizontal 5-fold wire strapping in proven HSM technology with the optional vertical 4-fold wire strapping. The vertical strapping can be switched on and off as required without any physical intervention by members of staff. Thanks to being coupled with a system of sorted containers, optimum strapping is selected automatically depending on the material and the requirement – and where possible, a saving is made on the strapping wire. The laborious cutting and reinserting of wires is a thing of the

VEGA registers growth around the globe
Four branches move into new buildings. Focus on sustainability. The measurement technology manufacturer VEGA is growing - not only in terms of turnover and employee numbers, but also visibly. The company has moved into four new buildings in recent months. In Great Britain, the USA, South Africa and Spain, the employees now have significantly more space at their disposal. With this, the specialist for innovative measurement technology with headquarters in Schiltach, where the 1000th employee was welcomed at the beginning of June, continues to invest in its future and attaches great importance to sustainability. At the same time, an environment is to be created for the company’s employees that ”doesn’t feel like just work, but like a second home,” emphasised Isabel Grieshaber, managing partner of VEGA Grieshaber KG, at the opening of the new building in South Africa. Training possibilities increased When designing the four branches, VEGA also paid great attention to expanding the training possibilities. The range

Robust level measurement you can build on
One of Italy’s largest building industry suppliers equipped its storing processes with suitable level measurement technology. The challenge was to find a system which can measure reliably even in this extremely dusty environment. Together with UWT a free-radiating continuous level measurement was configured. - Smart non-contact continuous radar determination Due to the fast development of the building and quarry industry in many European countries during the past years, the demand for more solution approaches for applications of cement plants has increased. Solutions of appropriate sensor technology for content and point level measurement have to be found in order to support the process flow of the cement production in the most reliable way. A manufacturer of concrete and plaster products for the building industry in Italy wanted to modernize his process flow with a redesign of the measuring equipment. Pre-dosed products are mainly offered, which are supposed to make life on the construction site easier. The manufacturer was amongst others looking for a reliable level measurement

A matter of heart - Severn Hospice
As part of our UWT cares commitment, our colleagues at the UWT UK subsidiary in Shrewsbury drew our attention to the Severn Hospice, which provides free specialist care and support to families living with an incurable illness. Since 1989, Severn Hospice has provided free care and support to more than 34,000 people and their families in times of dire need. All the care provided to thousands of people each year is only possible thanks to the generous support of communities and donations. Severn Hospice is a very high-profile charity dedicated to offer patients and their families with specialist medical care, emotional support and chaplaincy service. Behind each family that is helped stands a large, caring team and hundreds of friendly supporters who make that all possible. With our donation of £1,800 (€2,070) we want to support this great work of Severn Hospice. ” Our vision is a world where people are cared for at the end of their life as well as they were at its beginning.”
