Upgrade of level monitoring system in grain storage

A large grain storage facility in the south of England required a reliable content measuring device to replace an old acoustic wave system which was no longer functioning. Configured was a non-contact radar measurement device from UWT combined with a visualization software. Non-contact continuous level measurement UWT (UK) Limited proposed the use of the free-radiating radar NivoRadar® NR 3100 which could be supplied with an aiming flange. The integrated aiming flange allowed the radar to be mounted in the same position as the previous acoustic wave device which was close to the silo side wall and which allowed for the narrow 4˚ beam to be aimed towards the lowest point of the silo. Contact-free radar solution for water treatment slurry

Continuous level measurement technology from UWT was installed for the upgrade of the wastewater system of a company in the food manufacturing industry in Colombia. Together with the local partner INTAI INGENIERIA S.A.S. several on-site tests were carried out and a non-contact solution was preferred. Chemical and disinfectant substances require chemical resistance and a robust design. Accurate and fast level measurement The manufacturer of various dairy products needed a reliable solution to control medium solid waste from the plant’s effluent treatment process. The concrete tanks are 4 meters long and the material has the consistency of sludge with a DK value of 4. The pressure is in the range of 0.8 bar (11.6 psi) up to 5 bar (73 psi). There is no electrostatic charge. The process temperatures reach up to 80 °C (176 °F). Within the process hoppers there is a high degree of moisture and some build up. Capacitive level measurement technology for detection of crude oil

For the implementation of a reliable level limit measurement within lubricating oil pipelines of tyre production, the limited space situation as well as high material viscosity had to be considered in particular. Level limit measurement in pipelines with lubricating oil One of the largest global tyre manufacturers needed a reliable point level sensor to measure the level in a 3” tube with lubricating oil in their subsidiary in Argentina. Due to the viscosity of the material, not every measuring principle works in this installation situation. The crude oil has a DK value between 2 and 3, the process pressure can be up to 0.8 bar (11.6 psi) and the process temperature up to 80 °C (176 °F). In addition, there is a high moisture content with condensate within the atmosphere. In this case, the ideal solution was UWT’s Capanivo® CN 7000 capacitive point level sensor. To produce natural rosemary extract in Slovenia a continuous content measurement for several tanks was installed. These work with the capacitive measuring principle, which is becoming increasingly popular, and have been configured for special process connections. Compensation for the materials caking to the sensor was crucial for the reliable determination of rosemary acetone. - Capacitive sensors for the Ex area - ATEX Zone 0 A producer of natural rosemary extracts was looking for a reliable solution for continuous level measurement in five stationary tanks of different volumes. The measuring range is up to 2.2 meters (72.18 ft). There is condensate in the atmosphere. All tanks are located inside the production building with process temperatures up to 80°C (176°F). A large grain storage facility in the south of England required a reliable content measuring device to replace an old acoustic wave system which was no longer functioning. Non-contact continuous level measurement UWT (UK) Limited proposed the use of the free-radiating radar NivoRadar® NR 3100 which could be supplied with an aiming flange. Contact-free radar sensor for content level measurement detection in seawater tanks In Malaysia, a plant operator in the power generation field was looking for a smart solution for continuous level monitoring of its seawater tanks.
